[He immediately feels pleased with that reaction.]
As you worked so hard on getting the perfect cheesecake for me... I wouldn't mind sharing your favourite meal, Gallagher. I'm fine with whatever you might like.
[ His preferred meal involves a lot of meat, so he has to find something that will be acceptable for Sunday's tastes. Then again, one can never go wrong with a good steak. ]
How about steak and potatoes? But I can do something more homey if that's too much.
( ooc. more than eager to continue!! also, happy almost sunday release day!! :D )
Tomorrow night.
[ Gallagher reaffirms with a smile.
It's almost difficult to say goodbye, but knowing that he'll see the other man again tomorrow is making it ache a little less. An odd feeling, of course, given his true nature as a meme, but it's genuine all the same. He messages Sunday a few hours later to decide on the time, and once they settle on it, he goes about the rest of his night.
Until tomorrow comes.
Gallagher spends most of his late afternoon preparing dinner. Or rather, he spends most of it deciding how he should do the steak and potatoes. Sure, he can go the classic route, but it might not be fancy enough for Sunday. Then again, the man said that he'd like to try what Gallagher likes, so it should be fitting either way. He knows he's overthinking it, but it's difficult not to.
Luckily, he manages to get it together. He keeps it simple, too. Sunday's portion is just a fraction smaller compared to Gallagher's but there's enough leftovers if they both want extra helpings.
For now, he waits. Sunday should be due to arrive soon enough. ]
[ooc: happy Sunday banner!! Got him E1 and his light cone!]
[It's incredibly rare for Sunday to allow himself nights like tonight. A night to enjoy a dinner and a nice evening off? ... While Sunday would like everyone in Penacony to enjoy a restful night like this every night, it's not something Sunday finds himself doing often.
But perhaps that's why Sunday is feeling a little uneasy about appearing for a second night. As he adjusts the folds on his jacket so that they're perfectly neat, he realizes that he feels ... shy. A little breathless.
When he arrives, Sunday glances around quietly for the man at hand. When he does, seeing the spread of dinner there too, Sunday has to resist the airy feeling in his chest.]
Hello again, Gallagher. I see you've been hard at work. ...
( ooc. omg congrats!! i also just got his E1, but i'm trying for E2... somehow... pls sunday pls )
[ Gallagher is not exactly the most well put together type of man, but for tonight, he put in the effort to look as presentable as possible. His dress shirt isn't as ill-fitting as his usual attire, even if it does look a bit too tight on him. His tie is neat. His hair... well, that's always going to be a mess. The effort is still visible, at least.
When Sunday arrives, he greets him with a soft smile. ]
It's not everyday you ask to be spoiled, so I wanted to make sure everything is as close to perfect.
He makes his way over to stand behind a seat, pulling it up before gesturing for Sunday to sit down. ]
Have a seat. I'll bring out the wine after. Is there a kind you're wanting to drink for tonight? I heard Malbec wine pairs nicely with meat.
[Sunday has to take note about Gallagher's appearance, as well. He looks more put together than he usually does and it shows. Sunday finds himself feeling a bit satisfied with seeing him like that. His shirt and tie look... very good. Gallagher should clean himself up like this more often. Although he might silently admit to himself that he doesn't mind Gallagher's tousled hair.]
It's not often that I want to be treated. Although, you made a rather convincing argument with your cheesecake the other night.
[Sunday takes his seat.]
The Malbec will do just fine.
[It seems he isn't being too picky about tonight, either.]
Have you looked at the mirror? You look more radiant than me.
[ Once Sunday takes a seat, Gallagher excuses himself to grab the bottle of Malbec, pouring the appropriate amount of wine in the glasses he's already set on the table. He puts the bottle down soon after, within their reach should they want more. Now all that's left is to enjoy the meal, so Gallagher sits down soon after.
Even the cutlery is set up just as they would be in fancy restaurants. Some might be off just a few centimeters, not pixel perfect like Sunday would have liked, but it's clear the Hound put in some effort.
He gestures at the spread of food. ]
Not bad, right? Hopefully it's to your liking, just like the cheesecake.
[Once they're in front of their dinner and drinks, Sunday does take a sip of the wine first. Maybe to silent his slightly frayed nerves. He's fine, of course. Just flattered.]
You've done well, Gallagher. I'm impressed. And I'm sure everything will be delicious.
[Maybe he won't even nibble at his food like a bird tonight!!]
[ Gallagher can't help but be endeared by Sunday's reaction.
The man himself can be quite adorable even when he's not aware of it— perhaps even more so because he remains clueless to his appeal. He's sure he isn't the first one to comment on Sunday's beauty, but maybe the man is more affected because his words are actually sincere rather than simple flattery.
There'll be plenty more where that came from, he thinks. ]
I'm glad you think so, but go on and have a taste. I made this all for you.
[He is very flattered right now. He can clearly see all the honest work that Gallagher has put into all of this. Having someone make such sincere effort towards him that isn't his sister is ... very sweet. He doesn't get this treatment very often, as most others are very cordial or professional around Sunday.
He's totally and utterly unaware of how many admires he might actually have. He knows he's good-looking. But his sister is the popular idol, not him.
He takes his utensils and cuts a piece of meat and delicately places it in his mouth. He chews, savouring all the flavours and seasonings... It doesn't quite taste like food from a dream. But he can't be sure.]
[ If Sunday remains unaware, then at least that means there's more of the man for Gallagher alone. He's always been greedy when it comes to this.
His head tilts at Sunday's question, a small smile playing on his lips. ]
Even I can't override how things work in a dream, but I did do something special to them so they taste better.
[ Will he explain? Not really. Just Fictionologist things. He's hoping Sunday won't ask, because he wouldn't know how to explain it in a way that won't make things complicated between them. ]
[ How Sunday looks while he's eating Gallagher's food brings a smile to the old Hound's face. If only he can reach out and press a kiss to his forehead, but he'll behave for the time being. ]
Someone has to spoil you here and there. I'm just happy you gave me a chance.
[ Because it's not like Sunday allows himself such indulgences, so it might as well be Gallagher who provides them. ]
I'll let you enjoy the food now.
[ Because he'll do the same, eating his share like a happy puppy. ]
[Sunday watches Gallagher tuck into his meal. He does look like a happy puppy, if he had a tail, Sunday figures that it would be wagging right now. It's almost amusing and Sunday allows himself a small soft laugh at the picture. Gallagher is so easily pleased...
He'll start on his food as well, enjoying it with small bites and sips of his drink too.]
I'll have you know I don't let just anyone treat me to a dinner like this. You might think that you're spoiling me but perhaps it's the other way around.
[ At least, he thinks that's what Sunday is trying to get at here. Which is all good with him, really, because it's not everyday someone can say that they were allowed to feed this pretty Halovian. ]
But you know, you'll be truly spoiling me if you let me do this again soon enough.
[ Don't mind him asking for a next time. Sunday can always say no, of course. ]
[Truthfully, Gallagher expected the other man to reject him. After all, the two of them are on opposing paths, but to have Sunday say that he wouldn't mind continuing this arrangement— it does things to his tired, old heart.
If he had dog ears, they would have perked up out of happiness right now. ]
You already know the feeling is mutual or I wouldn't have asked. Next time will be an official date, then.
[Perhaps a part of why it's a bit thrilling is because they are on such opposing paths. Sunday finds it somewhat troubling but ... He also cannot help but to want this time with Gallagher.]
It's official then.
[He enjoys another bite of his meal. There is a slight blush across Sunday's cheeks and his wings twitch oh so slightly.]
Next time, I'll be sure to come with a gift for you.
[... He has to give something in return. After all this gentlemanly effort that the other man has given him.]
[ That— catches Gallagher offguard. His eyes widen slightly before they shift back to their usual tired gaze. A smile plays gently on his lips. ]
You don't have to. Your reaction to everything is more than enough for me. [ He's always been easy to please. ] ... But I won't turn it down if you really want to give me one.
[ Maybe it won't be so bad getting spoiled here and there too. ]

Tomorrow night it is. I'll store the cheesecake for you, unless you want something else to eat.
[ If it's something he doesn't know how to make, he's sure he can figure it out. Probably. ]

[He moves to stand, smoothing out the sleeves of his jacket neatly. Did he just tell Gallagher it will be a dinner date? Yes. Maybe he did.]
no subject
A dinner with the radiant Sunday. This old Hound is honoured. Any requests for what you'd like to eat?
[ Since he's assuming Sunday wants a cooked meal! He'll pull out all the stops, if he has to. He wants to impress the other man. ]

Steak and potatoes is perfectly acceptable.
[Sunday doesn't usually have a heavy appetite but it will do. With that, he gives a small nod before he goes to leave.]
Tomorrow night, then.
[ooc: more than happy to do a timeskip to the next night if you still want to keep going! <3]

Are you asking me if this could be a steady occurrence between us? I wouldn't mind that. ... I enjoy spending time with you.

It's only the proper and polite thing to do when two people are ... spending time together. As we are.
[Dating.]

I would never dream of turning it down, since it'll be a gift from you.
